Food Bank at Debra Dynes House

This year we are asking members to please consider giving some produce from your garden to the food bank at the Debra Dynes House. Dynes House supplies food to over 1,000 of the working poor families and new refugees living in our neighbourhoods. Collections will be made for the food bank starting July 25th. A notice has been posted at the garden and a box for collections is in the garden shed. Ron Rogers has organized this initiative, but is moving soon and is looking for some volunteers to help collect the food from the sheds and/or make deliveries to Dynes House on a regular basis.

Annual plot 3 has been dedicated to the Food Bank. The garden has been planted and weeded. All members are encouraged to help weed and water this garden should they have the time. The root crops will be harvested in the fall, but the kale and swiss chard will have to be harvested on an ongoing basis.

If you are interested in helping with this initiative please contact Ron Rogers by email (rwrogers73@gmail.com). Let's all step up and help those in need!
